Fifth confirmed measles case in Colorado adult with recent international travel

Denver (April 25, 2025) — The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, the Denver Department of Public Health and Environment, and Jefferson County Public Health have confirmed a fifth case of measles in Colorado this year in a Denver County adult resident. The individual recently traveled to an area of Chihuahua, Mexico, which is experiencing an ongoing measles outbreak. The individual has verified vaccination records for MMR.

With measles outbreaks in nearby states, messages urge families to protect children by getting MMR vaccine

Denver (March 24, 2025) — This afternoon, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment will send text messages and email notifications to families of more than 101,000 children aged 12 months through 18 years whose records in the Colorado Immunization Information System show their child/children may be overdue for their first measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine.
