Reminder for 2023 data submission
Due date for 2023 CDC data submission: Jan. 21, 2025.
CDPHE would like providers to enter any additional data by January 10, 2025.
If data is not entered by then, it won’t be reflected in aggregate CDC reporting like it was for 2022 CDC data.
If you're a health care provider performing newborn hearing screening, you can find a variety of helpful forms and resources below:
- CHIP Coordinators The Colorado Home Inclusion Plan (CHIP) Coordinators, employees of the Colorado School for the Deaf and the Blind (CSDB), are trained professionals who works with children who are Deaf or hard of hearing between the ages, birth to 3 years old, and their families.
- National Center for Hearing Assessment and Management.
Run by Utah State University, NCHAM served as the National Technical Resource Center for the implementation and improvement of comprehensive and effective Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EHDI) systems from 1988 to March 31, 2024. A number of free webinars, training presentations, and other resources are available on their website. Materials and activities described on NCHAM's website were funded in part by a cooperative agreement from the Maternal Child and Health Bureau (MCHB) of the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) at the United States Department of Health and Human Services for 25 years. NCHAM staff are responsible for the views and content of material on their website and no endorsement by MCHB/HRSA (or the staff of CDPHE) is implied or expressed.
National EHDI funding restructuring update
Beginning April 1, 2024, MCHB decided to restructure how technical assistance would be provided to EHDI programs by funding an EHDI National Network consisting of the following three entities who will work together:
- The Implementation and Change Center (ICC) housed at Gallaudet University’s Beacon Center is now funded to support state EHDI programs.
- The Family Leadership in Language and Learning Center (FL3), housed at Hands & Voices, is funded to enhance family-to-family support, develop family leadership skills, and engage DHH adults in EHDI programs.
- The Provider Education Center (PEC), housed at American Academy of Pediatrics is funded to provide resources and training for health care and allied health professionals so they can interact more effectively with the EHDI programs.
Please refer to any of the three above websites or the NCHAM website to access nationally available resources
