We encourage local public health agencies to educate their communities about the risk of lead poisoning and promote blood lead screenings in high-risk areas.

Reporting lead test results

All local public health agencies performing blood lead tests are required to report test results to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.

Under age 18Over age 18
  • Report results ≥ 3.5 within 7 days.
  • Report results < 3.5 within 30 days
  • Report results ≥ 3.5 within 30 days.
